Rules & Scoring

How FPS Points Are Calculated

The F-Class Points Series uses a performance-based formula that rewards both finishing position and competition level.

Points Calculation Formula

Positions Receiving Points = ceil((N + R) × 0.2)

Where:

  • N= Total number of shooters in your category at the match
  • R= Number of ranked shooters in the match (competition factor)

How Points Are Awarded

Points are awarded based on the number of positions receiving points:

  • • 1st place receives points based on a lookup table (more positions = more points)
  • • Subsequent places receive decreasing points following a chain decrement
  • • Maximum 1st place points: 36 (for 20+ positions receiving points)

Example

A match with 25 total shooters and 5 ranked shooters:
Positions = ceil((25 + 5) × 0.2) = ceil(6) = 6 positions
Points awarded: 1st: 6, 2nd: 5, 3rd: 4, 4th: 3, 5th: 2, 6th: 1

Ranked Shooter Definition

A "ranked shooter" is a competitor classified in the top-50 by aggregate score from the past 3 seasons. The more ranked shooters at a match, the more points available to earn.

This system rewards competing against experienced shooters while still allowing new competitors to earn points and build their ranking.
